Some Simple Home Remedies For Your Athlete’s Foot

Though prescriptions are available from your foot doctor, you may feel the need to try something more homeopathic first. That’s why we’re including a couple of home remedies that you can try if you’re healthy otherwise.

• Tea Tree Oil
  Tea tree oil is a natural disinfectant, and you can order a small bottle of tea tree oil on Amazon for a relatively low price. You don’t need much, and it can work very well for athlete’s foot, among other things. You can either put tea tree oil on the affected area directly, or you can add a few drops to a small foot soak tub and soak your feet for 30 minutes.
• Epsom Salt
  This works especially well for soaking your feet, and you can make the soak more powerful by adding tea tree oil or lavender oil. Soaking your feet for 30 minutes at a time about 3-5 times a week should help clear up your athlete’s foot.
• Go Barefoot
  Since fungus thrives in a dark, warm, damp environment, being barefoot as often as you can at home may help to clear up your athlete’s foot. However, be careful – it is contagious! Wearing breathable, light shoes is your best option if you’re worried about someone else in your family getting athlete’s foot.
